Amazing Food, Paradise-like Beaches, Happy People.
I encounter a lot of foreign people who visit the Philippines and they express how much they appreciate our country. They often compare the Philippines to other countries and this is what makes me realize and appreciate our country more.
1. Filipino hospitality
Based on a recent study, Philippines rank Top 8 in The Happiest Countries in the world. This is no surprise to us. Most Filipinos are positive people, they always crack jokes, and generally happy.
In the picture above, David Beckham visited Tacloban days after it was hit by Typhoon Haiyan. But instead of encoutering sad people, he was surprised to meet hopeful and smiling faces.
My foreign friends describe Pinoys as warm and loving people. They come here like it’s freedom whereas being in another country is more of a dreadful experience.
2. Everyone speaks English
You know that feeling when you’re in a foreign country, you get lost and can’t communicate to people because they don’t speak English?
Well that’s one thing you can be sure not to worry about because here, even the street vendors know how to speak English.
The Philippines is considered as one of the largest English-speaking countries in the world. It even beat India in the call center industry because of its more neutral English accent.
3. Delicious Filipino food
It’s so good that Buzzfeed need to put it into a list: Filipino foods you need in your life.
I must add mangoes, Adobo, and Tinola! (salivating…)
4. It’s more fun in the Philippines
5. Boracay
One tourist told me, “If you’re from here, you should be proud. Boracay is one of the best places on earth. It is a paradise”.
6. Palawan
Just look at it. Clear waters, amazing rock formations, caves.
Compared to Boracay, I’ve heard that Palawan is more relaxing because there’s not much people. It’s just you and nature.
7. Summer forever
Too good to be true, right?
The Philippines is located near the earth’s equator which means we’re always face-to-face with the sun.
We only have 2 seasons: sunny and rainy seasons. The rainy season starts from June to September but during this time, it doesn’t rain everyday.
So basically, if you want to skip winter on December, just come over to one of our beaches and get your tan.
8. The Philippines is 21st century-ready
We enjoy normal technology like you guys do. Well, maybe not the high-end/too advanced ones but we pretty much experience the regular stuff.
9. Everything is CHEAP
If you come here thin, I’d probably warn you that food is super cheap and delicious. I’ve seen people go back to their home country gaining a few pounds. So just be careful with food.
But basically you can shop anything you want at a super friendly price.
10. Try modeling
To those who are just starting out, you can build your portfolio here from little to no expense. You can meet Photographers and individuals who can help you out and produce world-class results.
For those models who are already experienced, you may consider dropping by the Philippines to find work yet relax at the same time.
To make sure you will be in good hands, a modeling agency we suggest you check out is IM Agency.
If you’re not model-type, I suggest you try out a business that is very close to your heart and bring it here.
11. Philippines just might be your next home
A LOT of foreigners do. In fact, some of them chose to live here permanently or at least consider the Philippines as their 2nd home.
So what else are you waiting for? Book that ticket now!!!
